The Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) welcomes Prof. Dolores Albarracín as a Visiting Scholar this month. As part of her stay, the Person-Environment Interaction Laboratory (LIPE-Lab)—part of the research group “HUM-196: Values, Beliefs and Attitudes”—has organized a series of lectures entitled “Communication, Persuasion and Behavioral Change.”

Professor Albarracín (University of Pennsylvania) is one of the most influential researchers internationally in the study of persuasion, attitudes and behavioral change. Her research examines how communication influences human beliefs and behaviors, with applications in areas such as health, politics and misinformation. Among other awards, she has received the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Social Sciences.

During her stay at the University of Granada, she will give a series of three lectures in which she will present some of her main lines of research and recent work carried out in her laboratory. In particular, she will address three central questions:

  • How to design messages that promote action.
  • How misbeliefs are formed and can be corrected in contexts of disinformation.
  • What opportunities and challenges artificial intelligence poses for understanding and managing the processes of persuasion and behavior change.

Dates: March 18, 19, and 25, 2026

Time: 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Location: Sala de conferencias 1, CIMCYC (UGR)

After each lecture, there will be time for researchers to meet with Professor Albarracín, exchange ideas and explore possible avenues for collaboration.
