Following the holiday break, the science outreach initiative PsychoBeers is resuming its activities. The first session of 2026 will take place on Wednesday, January 28, at 8:30 PM at the Planta Baja venue in Granada. Under the title "Time in the Mind: Time, Culture and Religion," the event will feature researcher Carmen Callizo Romero from the Institute of Culture and Society at the University of Navarra.
How Do We Think About Time?
In this talk, Callizo Romero will analyze the cognitive mechanisms that allow us to process and conceptualize time. The session will delve into how critical external factors, such as culture and religion, shape our temporal perception, leading people from different parts of the world to understand and experience the passage of time in very different ways.
Science, Music and Community
PsychoBeers is a project led by researchers from CIMCYC. Its goal is to take science out of the laboratory and bring cognitive disciplines—such as psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and anthropology—closer to the general public in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.
