The CIMCYC Strengthens its Scientific Advisory Committee With Two New Members

The CIMCYC has expanded its Scientific Advisory Committee. This body, which plays a key role in our institution’s strategy, has added two new advisors to the three members in place since 2022.

The Scientific Advisory Committee is a key advisory body for centers and units of excellence. Its primary role is to provide high-level strategic guidance and ensure that the research conducted at the CIMCYC, as a María de Maeztu unit, maintains the highest standards of excellence and international impact.

In accordance with the requirements of the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), this committee monitors the unit’s progress and provides evaluation reports regarding the seal of excellence.

Professor of Psychology at the University of Queensland

Heleen Slagter

Heleen Slagter, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Director of the iBBA research center (Institute for Brain and Behavior Amsterdam).

Eugene Higgins Professor, Psychology and Public Affairs, Princeton University.

Luiz Pessoa

Professor at the Department of Psychology, University of Maryland, College Park and Director of the Maryland Neuroimaging Center (USA)

Antonio Puente

Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Visiting Professor at the Universidad de Granada (Spain), UCLA, and UNC-Chapel Hill.
