As part of the strategic plan linked to the María de Maeztu Seal of Excellence award, CIMCYC is recruiting a staff member to support wellbeing and the internal and external collaboration among people and groups, plus the promotion of individuals’ equality and respect for diversity.
Demonstrable experience in (at least) part of the responsibilities described for the position is essential.
In their natural habitat, animals must effectively seek out and select nutrient-rich foods while avoiding potentially toxic ones. These food preferences are largely acquired through direct experience with the flavors present in foods. The development of appetitive preferences has been widely studied through the flavor preference conditioning paradigm. In this paradigm, a previously neutral taste stimulus (e.g., cinnamon) is paired with an already preferred flavor (e.g., sugar). After this procedure, a greater consumption and preference for the previously paired flavor cue is observed. This phenomenon plays a crucial role in feeding behavior.
The NeuroDev project will create three neurodevelopment centres in Palestine.
NeuroDev is an Erasmus+ project coordinated from the University of Granada by researchers from CIMCYC and the Faculty of Education Sciences. This project is a continuation of the NeuCaRe project through which the first master's degree in child neurodevelopment and clinical neuropsychology in Arab countries was designed and implemented.
Cyber violence in romantic relationships encompasses a wide range of behaviors through digital means and can be classified into two types: cyber control, which involves online abusive behaviors intended to control and monitor the partner (e.g., repeatedly sending messages to find out the partner's whereabouts or checking their mobile phone without permission), and direct cyber aggression, which includes behaviors aimed at deliberately harming the partner, such as insulting, threatening, or humiliating them through technology (e.g., sending sexually explicit photos of the partner without their consent via social media). Although both types are clear manifestations of cyber violence in romantic relationships, they seem to demonstrate different intentions and impacts. Furthermore, the way young people experience cyber violence in their relationships varies depending on gender. However, little is known about how youth perceive the cyber abuse behaviors they experience in their relationships and what reasons they attribute to their partner's behavior.
Throughout the day, people experience a series of natural fluctuations in our level of physical arousal. These changes in our physiological state, ranging from deep sleep to physical exhaustion, appear to impact cognition. To study the behavioral dynamics of cognitive control and decision-making during high and low arousal states, researchers from CIMCYC presented a conflict task to participants while they were falling asleep or engaging in high-intensity physical exercise.
Researchers from the CTS-436 group, “Psychosocial and Transcultural Aspects of Health and Illness,” and the CTS-581 group, “Neuropsychology and Psychoneuroimmunology,” affiliated with the Mind, Brain, and Behavior Research Center at the University of Granada, have developed a program for stimulating executive functions for preschool children (PEFEN).
Embodiment is a complex concept related to the subjective perception of ownership over one's own body. In general, this construct has been assessed through questionnaires, but validation studies in other cultures and limitations related to language barriers have received little attention. The present research had two objectives: to validate the factorial structure of the "Embodiment Questionnaire" and to develop the Pictographic Embodiment Evaluation Scale to measure embodiment without relying on verbal expressions.
Researchers Carlos Pérez-Amorós, Juan Carlos Sierra, and Pablo Mangas have recently published a study in the *Journal of Social and Personal Relationships*, analyzing the dyadic subjective experience of orgasm in the contexts of sexual relationships and solitary masturbation among 179 Spanish couples of different-sex and same-sex.
This study addresses the influence of information about economic inequality on attitudes toward redistribution, examining how this effect depends on the source of the message and the ideology of the recipient.
