This research group examines the brain, physiological, and behavioral mechanisms involved in the effects of both harmful and rewarding substances that an organism may receive, either inadvertently or without awareness. It also has a laboratory capable of determining, within a maximum period of one week, whether a substance consumed or received by rodent animals has harmful or rewarding properties.
