A team from the University of Granada has integrated exercise physiology and health psychology to determine whether high-intensity training protects mental health. The BEER-HIIT study analyzes how a high-intensity physical exercise program influences the mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of young adults between the ages of 18 and 40. Un equipo de investigación del Centro de Investigación, Mente, Cerebro y Comportamiento (CIMCYC) en colaboración con la Universidad de Zaragoza, de Valencia, la Complutense de Madrid y la Universidad Católica de Lovaina (Bélgica) ha analizado cómo la forma en que las personas experimentan y regulan sus emociones influye en el craving, tanto en videojuegos como en el juego de azar, y cómo este deseo puede derivar en consecuencias más graves cuando no se maneja adecuadamente.

Undergraduate short summer research stays at the CIMCYC

During the month of July 2026, the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) will host national and international undergraduate talented students with research interests aligned with work carried out at the center.
We offer placements for 9 students from outside the University of Granada who have completed at least 50% of the total credits required for their bachelor's degree program.

What Role Do Stress and Psychological Resilience Play in Aging?

Researchers from the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) and the University of Valladolid have conducted a study aimed at understanding the role played by stress and psychological resilience in the daily lives of older adults, and, more specifically, analysed whether stress acts as a risk factor and whether psychological resilience functions as a protective factor for independence and participation.
