La Concejalía de Política Social, Familia, Discapacidad y Mayores de Granada visita el CIMCYC

The Mind Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) at the University of Granada (UGR) recently hosted a visit from the Granada City Council’s Department of Social Policy, Family, Disability and Seniors (Concejalía de Política Social, Familia, Discapacidad y Mayores).

The visit began with a presentation of the center to showcase its main lines of research, with an emphasis on knowledge transfer and social impact. Following the presentation, the municipal representatives toured the CIMCYC's facilities. The delegation was shown the Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging unit, the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation laboratory and the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory, where research is conducted on child populations.

The meeting was coordinated by researchers from various laboratories within the center who have collaborated on a research proposal for the early detection of developmental alterations in children facing psychosocial risk. They also presented their experience with the bbMiradas project, an early-detection program for autism. The objective of the entire event was to strengthen collaboration between research and professional practice in the fields of childhood and family.
