Conference: Is There Inequality in Research?

The Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) and the Departments of Social Psychology, Experimental Psychology and Psychobiology of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Granada share an invitation to the conference “Is There Inequality in Research?” on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 11F - 2025.

Inequality between men and women exists in many areas, including research and academic evaluation. This conference aims to make visible some factors related to this gender gap, such as the barriers and obstacles encountered by female researchers in their academic careers. In addition, the speaker will discuss different solutions and proposals to promote equality between men and women in research and science.

Information about the speaker

Capitolina Díaz Martínez is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Valencia and one of the great experts in gender perspectives in research in Spain. She has an extensive career as a researcher, and her commitment to analyzing the inequality between men and women in the scientific context stands out.

In addition, she has held different positions and assumed various responsibilities in the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Equality, as well as the presidency (2013/2016) of the Association of Women Researchers and Technologists (AMIT by its Spanish acronym).
