CIMCYC researchers speak about the study and treatment of the neuropsychological sequelae of gender violence.

 

Last week, the conference "New advances in the consequences of gender violence" took place, organized by the Andalusian Women Institute’s Provincial Centre of Granada with the collaboration of the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC).

 

This conference featured talks by CIMCYC researchers, Miguel Pérez García, PhD in Psychology, researcher in the PNINSULA group and professor in Neuropsychology, Natalia Hidalgo Ruzzante, PhD in Psychology, full-time professor of Psychology and researcher in the PNINSULA group, (http: //www.pninsula.es/index.htm) and Inmaculada María Teva Álvarez, PhD in Psychology, Professor of Psychology and researcher of the Clinical Psychophysiology and Health Promotion research group (https://cts261.ugr.es / start_data /).

 

Miguel Pérez García analyzed the explanatory mechanisms of the consequences of violence in surviving women. Afterwards, Natalia Hidalgo Ruzzante talked about the neuropsychological consequences of Gender Violence focused on the sequelae. Finally, Inmaculada Teva Álvarez spoke about the complex post-traumatic stress disorder experienced by female survivors.
