CIMCYC European Night Presentation

On September 29, within the framework of the European Researchers' Night, the CIMCYC stand offered a wide range of conferences, consolidating the commitment of our institution to scientific dissemination.

The morning was aimed at educational centers, which attended workshops on "How do several languages coexist in the brain?", "How does inequality affect us?", "Neurosexism: what is it and how to fight it from neuroscience" and "Do people always behave as they want or as socially expected?". These talks fostered curiosity among the student community, and underscored the importance of addressing social issues from a scientific perspective.

The afternoon, with activities open to the general public, covered a wide range of topics. We talked about the relationship between sleepiness and physical exercise, the potential of gamified learning in language with "ATENXIA", and delved into such crucial issues as the neuroscience of gender violence, the consequences of sexist language, the brain mechanisms behind motivation and pleasure, the innate curiosity of babies as "miniature scientists", the relevance of cognition in our daily lives and the impact of the mind on the body from the approach of psychoneuroimmunology.

A highlight of the day was the visit to our stand by Canal Sur, demonstrating the media and social interest in the Center's advances.

From CIMCYC we extend our gratitude to all the attendees, to the researchers who shared their knowledge and to the organizers for their dedication and effort in making the evening a resounding success.

This event is testimony to the joint effort of the scientific community and society to promote outreach. We at CIMCYC are proud to be part of this European initiative and we appreciate the active participation and enthusiasm of the audience. We will continue working to build bridges between research and the community.
