CIMCYC Tandem is a bilingual meeting space for all CIMCYC personnel. Through regular English-Spanish exchange sessions, we aim to strengthen our center's international community and enhance fluency in both languages.
Objectives
- To foster English communication skills among CIMCYC research staff.
- To foster Spanish communication skills among visiting research staff at CIMCYC.
- To promote interaction, mutual understanding, and cohesion between local and international researchers.
Target Audience
This program is open to all individuals who work or study at the CIMCYC. This includes:
- Master's and PhD students in Psychology (regardless of their contractual status).
- Temporary and Permanent Faculty/Research Staff (PDI).
- Administrative and Support Staff (PTGAS).
Description
This CIMCYC-led initiative consists of regular gatherings focused on English-Spanish language exchange. The conversation topics are specifically designed to address our three primary objectives. Beyond providing speaking opportunities and building confidence when communicating with international colleagues, these sessions aim to foster interpersonal and intercultural understanding, thereby strengthening social cohesion within the center.
Schedule
Sessions will be held on Wednesdays, alternating each week between morning and afternoon slots to make it easier for everyone to attend:

Morning sessions: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Afternoon sessions: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Minimum Participation
To ensure a productive and enriching group dynamic, sessions will proceed only with a minimum of 4 registered participants. In the event of a cancellation, participants will be notified in advance.
