This initiative was created to provide a bilingual meeting space for all CIMCYC staff. Through regular English-Spanish exchange sessions, it aims to strengthen the center’s international community and improve fluency in both languages.
Objectives
- To support the development of English communication skills among CIMCYC research staff.
- To support the development of Spanish communication skills among visiting researchers at CIMCYC.
- To encourage interaction, mutual understanding, and cohesion between local and international researchers.
Who can take part?
This initiative is open to all members of CIMCYC and to anyone whose work is based at the center. This includes Master’s and PhD students in Psychology, regardless of whether they hold a formal contract, as well as temporary and permanent teaching and research staff and technical, administrative, and support staff.
Description
This CIMCYC-led initiative consists of regular meetings whose main purpose is English-Spanish language exchange. The conversation topics proposed at the beginning will be designed to support the three objectives listed above.
In addition to creating opportunities for English and Spanish conversation among CIMCYC staff and helping participants feel more confident communicating with international colleagues, the proposed topics will also encourage interpersonal and intercultural exchange, thereby strengthening social cohesion within the center.

Sessions are held on Wednesdays, alternating each week between morning and afternoon time slots to make attendance easier.
-

To ensure that sessions remain dynamic and productive, they will only be held when at least four people have registered. If fewer than four people sign up, the cancellation will be communicated in advance.
