Knowledge Transfer and Social Impact

CIMCYC carries out excellent basic and applied research. This work generates scientific knowledge while contributing to addressing societal needs and challenges.

Knowledge transfer involves connecting research with various social, educational, healthcare, business and institutional actors, fostering collaboration and the development of evidence-based solutions. This approach aligns with the report by Spain's Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, which defines transfer as “a continuous process of knowledge valorization”. It also accords with European recommendations that describe transfer as “the creation of social and economic value from knowledge by linking different spheres and sectors and by transforming data, know-how and research results into sustainable, knowledge-based products, services, solutions and policies that benefit society” (Recommendation (EU) 2022/2415).

CIMCYC brings together research groups with expertise across diverse and complementary areas and methodologies. This diversity allows complex problems to be tackled from multiple perspectives and puts scientific knowledge at the service of specific needs.

One of the main objectives is to facilitate connections between the CIMCYC's capabilities and external organizations and partners, fostering joint project development, participation in applied research projects, scientific-technical advisory services for public and private entities, support in designing science-informed public policies, evidence-based training on topics of social interest and the development of tools to improve the assessment of psychological and educational variables, among other aspects.

Collaboration Networks

CIMCYC maintains institutional partnerships with various entities, public institutions and scientific networks to promote knowledge transfer and the social impact of its research findings.
