Researchers from the center will participate in the new edition of the international festival Pint of Science, which takes place in Granada from May 18 to May 20.
Once again, the CIMCYC joins the Pint of Science outreach festival, the international event that brings scientists into bars to share their findings with the public in a relaxed and accessible atmosphere.
In this 2026 edition, two researchers from the center will star in the "Beautiful Mind" section, which will be officially hosted at Sala Premier (Plaza Mariana Pineda, 1).
Monday, May 18 (8:00 p.m.) | "Studying Consciousness In Animals And Machines" – Ana Chica
What makes us conscious? Is this an exclusively human capacity? Researcher Ana B. Chica will invite us to reflect on our own consciousness and explain how science manages to measure and study it to identify it in other animal species or even in machines.

Tuesday, May 19 (8:00 p.m.) | "I Don't Want Your Dick Pic! Myths In The Digital Age" – Rocío Vizcaíno Cuenca
This talk will address the phenomenon of unsolicited genital photographs. Through a review of beliefs and perceptions regarding digital sexual violence, the researcher will analyze the myths and prejudices established in our society. Furthermore, she will discuss key concepts such as desire, consent in the digital environment and sexual education.

Pint of Science is an opportunity to engage with the excellence of the research conducted at the CIMCYC in an enjoyable and participatory way. The talks are open to the public and are designed so that anyone—without the need for prior scientific training—can enjoy, learn and reflect.
