In 2026, CIMCYC joined the Science Bridges Program, an inclusive scientific outreach initiative coordinated by the Andalusian Institute of Astrophysics (IAA-CSIC) in collaboration with several Granada research centers belonging to the CSIC and the University of Granada.
The goal of this program is to bring scientific activities closer to vulnerable groups and communities at risk of social exclusion, using science as a vehicle for integration, intercultural understanding and civic empowerment.
Through this alliance, CIMCYC extends its public outreach efforts to population segments that are typically disconnected from scientific culture events. The sessions are structured around hands-on workshops and guided tours of the center's laboratories, tailored to the interests and language needs of each group.
During the 2026 edition, the center welcomed groups from two leading regional non-governmental organizations: Granada Acoge and Provivienda.
