TMS devices stimulate electrical activity in the brain using brief magnetic pulses. This technology is extremely useful for establishing causal relationships between the functioning of specific regions of the cerebral cortex and their involvement in particular cognitive processes.
The CIMCYC TMS lab is equipped with two stimulation devices (Magstim Rapid² and Magstim® BiStim²), a neuronavigation system (BrainSight), a robotic stimulation system (Auxilium robotic), and an eye-tracking system (EyeLink 1000 Plus).
