As part of the strategy of the CIMCYC María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence we continue to implement specific actions to increase participation in highly prestigious international funding programs, such as the calls from the European Research Council (ERC) and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).
Preparation Of European Research Council (ERC) Projects
The CIMCYC has consolidated a support group dedicated specifically to planning, discussing and providing feedback on ERC project proposals throughout their different stages. The ERC Meetings are held periodically, bringing together individuals with experience in evaluating these programs and researchers who are currently preparing proposals for upcoming calls.
The next meeting will take place on May 21 and will feature Dr. Elena Grigorenko, an internationally renowned researcher affiliated with institutions such as the University of Houston and Yale, and a former member of the ERC Advanced Grants panel. This will be followed by a seminar presented by Pilar Lacruz, a panel coordinator at the ERC Executive Agency (ERCEA), who will outline the different funding schemes and the updates for the 2027 Work Programme.
Furthermore, the CIMCYC has launched an incentive program to promote the active participation of its researchers in the various ERC calls, providing financial incentives for the preparation of competitive proposals.
Proposal Preparation For MSCA-PF Grants
To boost applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) calls, the CIMCYC has organized a seminar to be held on June 2. The first session, focusing on the technical and administrative aspects of these proposals, will be led by Cristina Martínez-Zaldívar from the UGR International Research Projects Office (OFPI). The second session, covering key writing aspects from an evaluator's perspective, will be conducted by Maria Ruz and Carlos González, both members of the CIMCYC.
Through these actions, the CIMCYC reaffirms its commitment to scientific excellence and its ongoing support for its research staff in their pursuit of leadership and enhanced international presence.
