Professor Emeritus of the University of Granada, Mr. Jaime Vila Castellar, has been proposed by the Department of Humanities of the Mittuniversitetet (Östersund, Sweden) to receive the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa for his extensive academic experience and contributions in the field of psychophysiology of human emotions.
Professor Vila, a key figure in the introduction of Psychology studies at the University of Granada in the late 1970s, has carried out most of his research work as director of the "Human Psychophysiology and Health" research group at the CIMCYC. His main focus of interest over the years has covered a wide range of emotions, both negative and positive, with a translational approach that combines basic and applied research aimed at a better understanding of the mechanisms that regulate the acquisition, development and extinction of various behavioral problems. To his credit, he has directed more than forty doctoral theses and numerous publications at international level.
The ceremony will take place on October 6, in the Swedish city of Östersund.
