  • The meeting will be held in person on July 7, 2026.
  • Its main objective is to present the research lines funded by the María de Maeztu Excellence Unit and to welcome the new predoctoral and postdoctoral research staff.
  • The registration period to attend will remain open until July 3.

The Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) at the University of Granada will host the conference "Connecting CIMCYC: Collaborative projects and incorporation of research staff" on July 7. This event was created with the purpose of opening up a space for exchange and dialogue to showcase the various research lines currently funded by the María de Maeztu Excellence Unit, as well as to introduce and welcome the predoctoral and postdoctoral research staff who will contribute to developing these research lines.

The opening and presentation of the conference, which will begin at 10:00 AM, will be led by María Ruz, director of the CIMCYC. The program will be structured around the contributions of predoctoral and postdoctoral staff from various research groups, thereby highlighting the multidisciplinary richness of the research carried out at the center.

The scientific activity of the day will showcase interdisciplinary research lines, as several of them are part of the support program for collaborative projects involving research staff from different areas of psychology and neuroscience.

The conference will be structured into two blocks dedicated to highlighting the center's research talent. During the morning block, the predoctoral research staff will present their projects. This session will address diverse topics such as neurodevelopment and stress reactivity in childhood; pornography and violence against women; representations of symbolic and non-symbolic magnitude; behavioral and oculomotor markers in perceptual learning; the influence of spatial structure on category learning; linguistic factors linked to cognitive reserve; emotional regulation in survivors of gender-based violence, and science communication, inequality and social change.

Meanwhile, the afternoon session will be reserved for postdoctoral-level research. Throughout this block, advances in cutting-edge research lines will be presented, including the study of complex post-traumatic stress disorder in survivors of gender-based violence; the functioning of visual working memory and the predictive brain; tracking human temporal experience; neural modulation in dysfunctional eating; the cognitive mechanisms behind the updating of our beliefs, and the development and evaluation of interventions to combat disinformation.

All blocks of the program will include time for debate and questions in order to promote knowledge exchange and dialogue among attendees.
