Cada 11 de febrero, la comunidad científica internacional conmemora el Día Internacional de la Mujer y la Niña en la Ciencia. Esta efeméride subraya la necesidad de eliminar las brechas de género y poner en valor las aportaciones (históricas y actuales) de las mujeres a la generación de conocimiento. El Centro de Investigación Mente, Cerebro y Comportamiento (CIMCYC) se suma a esta celebración con diversas actividades que buscan visibilizar el liderazgo femenino en la investigación, inspirar vocaciones científicas y destacar la importancia de la inclusión de perspectiva de género en la investigación. 

The Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) announces the relaunch of the CIMCYC Sessions, with the first meeting of the season taking place next Thursday, February 12, 2026.

This week, Granada becomes an international hub for social psychology researchers. From February 4 to 6, the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) at the University of Granada is hosting an international meeting of the European Association of Social Psychology to analyze the dynamics of social change.

The Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) offers six positions within the call: "Convocatoria 2025 para la contratación de jóvenes investigadores y personal técnico de apoyo y de gestión a la I+D+I del Programa de Empleo Juvenil de la Consejería de Universidad, Investigación e Innovación de la Junta de Andalucía, en el marco del Programa Fondo Social Europeo Plus 2021-2027". This initiative is part of the Youth Employment Program of the Ministry of University, Research and Innovation of the Regional Government of Andalusia, under the framework of the 2021–2027 European Social Fund Plus Program.

Throughout 2026 and 2027, the CIMCYC will host several prominent international researchers thanks to the University of Granada’s Visiting Scholars program.

Every day, we face new situations with surprising ease: from understanding a rule that has just been explained to reacting appropriately to an unfamiliar sign. But how does the brain manage to turn a never-before-heard instruction into a precise and appropriate action? A team of researchers from the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) at the University of Granada (UGR) has shed new light on this fundamental question of human cognition.

Masturbation is a common and natural practice, yet it has not always been perceived in the same way. Beyond its private nature, our thoughts regarding it are deeply influenced by social and gender norms. A man masturbating is not judged the same as a woman doing so, and these differences in perception reveal a great deal about the values that continue to shape our sexuality.

Following the holiday break, the science outreach initiative PsychoBeers is resuming its activities. The first session of 2026 will take place on Wednesday, January 28, at 8:30 PM at the Planta Baja venue in Granada. Under the title "Time in the Mind: Time, Culture and Religion," the event will feature researcher Carmen Callizo Romero from the Institute of Culture and Society at the University of Navarra.

"¡PsychoBoost! 3 minutos de ciencia" es una iniciativa del Centro de Investigación Mente, Cerebro y Comportamiento (CIMCYC) para dar a conocer la carrera investigadora al estudiantado de grado y posgrado de la Facultad de Psicología. Forma parte de un proyecto orientado a mejorar las competencias en comunicación, divulgación científica y expresión oral del estudiantado investigador.

El Centro de Investigación Mente, Cerebro y Comportamiento (CIMCYC) de la Universidad de Granada acogerá un workshop sobre Aprendizaje y Atención el próximo martes 17 de diciembre de 2025.
